Elke vier jaar vormt het Wereld Muziek Concours in Kerkrade het podium waar harmonieorkesten de strijd aangaan met de beste orkesten ter wereld. Dit is blaasmuziek van het hoogste niveau, uitgevoerd door deelnemers uit alle windstreken. De wedstrijden voor harmonieorkesten hebben het meest internationale deelnemersveld van alle WMC-onderdelen.
