Orchestra di Fiati della Brianza

Wind band 1st division

Bio

Founded in 2008, the Orchestra di Fiati della Brianza was established by a group of friends who brought together some of the most promising young musicians and conservatory students from Lombardy, in northern Italy. The orchestra’s main goal is to introduce audiences to the rich wind band repertoire, which spans from early 20th-century military band classics to the latest original works by leading contemporary composers, including excursions into transcriptions of symphonic works, musicals, and film soundtracks. The ensemble is currently composed by around 70 musicians—most of whom are under the age of 25—who have the opportunity to engage with pieces of significant expressive and technical depth, thus representing a valuable platform for both personal growth and high-level artistic performance. Each year, the orchestra collaborates with local organizations to present dynamic and innovative projects, such as masterclasses, performances with renowned soloists, and themed concert series. These initiatives attract both a loyal audience and interest from musicians and bands across the region. Since October 2022, the Orchestra di Fiati della Brianza has been conducted by Pietro Boiani.
