Orchestergemeinschaft Seepark

Wind band 3rd division

Bio

The Orchestergemeinschaft Seepark is one of the largest symphonic wind orchestras in Freiburg im Breisgau, Germany. It was founded in 2001 as a collaboration between two independent music societies: Musikverein Betzenhausen-Bischofslinde e.V. and Musikverein Freiburg-Mooswald e.V. While they share the orchestra project, both associations remain legally and structurally independent. Open to musicians aged 9 to 99, the Orchestergemeinschaft Seepark brings together players of all generations to share their passion for symphonic wind music. The ensemble performs in Division 3 and is known for its wide-ranging repertoire, which includes original works for wind orchestra, film scores, and classical transcriptions. The orchestra also places a strong focus on musical education, working in partnership with the Jazz & Rock Schools Freiburg to support the development of young musicians. Since its foundation, the artistic direction has been in the hands of Freiburg-based conductor Michael Schönstein. With its vibrant concert series, community spirit, and musical excellence, the Orchestergemeinschaft Seepark has become an integral part of Freiburg’s cultural life.
