WMC Kerkrade is the place to be for the World of Wind Music!

The World Music Contest Kerkrade in the south east corner of the Netherlands is the world's major international festival for wind music. Every four years more than 18,000 musicians, belonging to more than 250 bands take part in the contests, concerts and other projects. There is a special youth exchange program: WMC Young Generation with special concerts, workshops and summer camps.
The town center of host city Kerkrade is turned into one big festival ground, where the many outdoor stages form the back bone of an extensive fringe festival, which is not restricted to kerkrade alone but also covers large parts of the Dutch Province Limburg and the adjoining regions of Belgium and Germany.
In 2017 WMC Kerkrade will once again coincide with the WASBE-conference in Utrecht, 16 until 23 July, which is only two hours drive away, thus enabling bands to be present at both these top events.

Dignified farewell for former chairman!

Prior to the overwelming concert of the European Union Youth Wind Orchestra, WMC said goodbye to former chairman Reg van Loo. From that moment on he may call himself honorary board member WMC!

WMC Kerkrade Experience

The rich history of WMC Kerkrade also supplies a lot of fun anecdotes. Not only about music, but also about marriage proposals in a full stadium, friendships with host families that have been lasting for years, musical 'feuds', etc. The WMC Experience!
