Lifelong Learning International
8 – 12 November, Rolduc Congress Center Kerkrade, Netherlands
For the 13th consecutive time the International Conductors Course will take place, and already for the 4th time as part of the Lifelong Learning International-programme. Organisers are once again WMC Kerkrade, the Dutch Union of Band Directors and Instructors (BvO) and Kunstfactor Utrecht. A superb selection of conductors, bands, ensembles and choirs of international renown insure the quality of this event, which from its start in 1985 has gained international fame because many of those who attended this course now belong to the best in their field.
The course includes conducting, band coaching, workshops with various formats of wind bands, choirs and ensembles. Course instructors work both as teacher and observer so as to insure an optimal effect for the participants. All major band forms will be used. Fanfareorkest De Kempenbloei Achel, world champion in 2009, Van de Kreeke Brass Band Limburg, Harmonie St. Aemiliaan Bleijerheide and the Marinierskapel of the Royal Dutch Marines, as well as the Helicon Ensemble, Male Voice Choir Maastreechter Staar and the Vocal Ensemble Kerkrade will be performing in this course, which this time will give special attention to choir and opera accompaniment.
For this course a number of classics from the Dutch band repertoire have been newly orchestrated and edited in full score, and a number of new opera arrangements have been commissioned.

Presentation Concerts
Friday 11 and Saturday 12 November 2011 the practical participants and participating bands, choirs and ensembles will present themselves in two concerts in the Aula Major of Rolduc Congress Center and Parkstad Limburg Theater Kerkrade.
Registration
Registration for participation in the International Conductors Course 2011 is possible until 1 October 2011. The course fee is € 750.-- for practical participants (maximum 20), and € 500.—for auditors (unlimited). Included in this fee are the scores, the stay in Rolduc Congress Center for the time of the course as well as the journey to Rotterdam, where a part of the course will take place in the rehearsal rooms of the Marinierskapel. For auditors also day tickets are possible.
Registration packages are in English or Dutch. Candidates should be able to communicate in one of the following languages: Dutch, English or German.
